SOURCE I-II
Diptych | Oil and Mixed Media on Canvas
40 × 60 cm each | 2026

Source explores the recurring order that connects the microcosm to the macrocosm — where
cellular structures echo galactic formations. The diptych reflects two opposing yet interconnected movements: one expanding outward, the other drawing inward.
Light and shadow, fire and water emerge not as contradictions, but as different manifestations of
the same whole. Rooted in the idea that nothing truly disappears but transforms and returns to its origin, the work reflects on cyclical existence, transformation, and continuity.

NOT SEPARATE I-II
Diptych | Oil and Mixed Media on Canvas
40 × 60 cm each | 2026

Not Separate reflects on the illusion of separation and the invisible bonds that continue to exist
beneath apparent duality. The diptych explores coexistence not as the merging of opposites, but as the recognition that opposing forces may originate from the same essence.
Through layered textures, organic movement, and shifting fields of light and shadow, the work creates a visual dialogue between connection and individuality. Rather than dissolving differences, the composition suggests a state of balance where distinct forms remain interconnected while preserving their own presence.
The series reflects on the idea that unity does not require sameness — only the remembrance of a shared origin.

COEXIST I-II
Diptych | Oil and Mixed Media on Canvas
40 × 60 cm each | 2026

Coexist reflects on forms of balance that emerge through resonance rather than opposition.
The diptych creates a shared visual field where separate surfaces remain independent while continuing to exist in quiet relation to one another.
Through layered textures, atmospheric depth, and organic movement, the work explores coexistence
as a state of mutual presence rather than completion. Light, density, expansion, and stillness move across the surfaces like interconnected rhythms existing within the same flow.
Within the series, Coexist functions as a contemplative space where distinction and unity no longer conflict, but accompany one another through a shared state of existence.

UNITY
Oil and Mixed Media on Canvas
40 × 60 cm | 2026

Unity functions as the concluding work of From the Same Source — a point where fragmentation dissolves into wholeness, and opposing movements return to a shared origin.
Rather than presenting unity as sameness, the work reflects on coexistence through balance,
resonance, and interconnected presence. The layered surface gathers traces of the entire series, carrying within it echoes of transformation, memory, dissolution, and renewal.
As the final piece, Unity does not seek resolution through certainty, but through the quiet recognition that all forms remain connected beyond visible separation.

Ceren Ataay makes this invisible bond visible through colors.
New atmospheres are born within light, shadow, and movement.
Micro and macro worlds unite as one in the depths of oil paint.

- FEATURED PROJECTS
Selected works 2021 - 2026
The following works expand the artist’s ongoing exploration of
transformation, memory, elemental balance, and interconnected existence.
Through layered textures, atmospheric abstraction, and organic movement, each piece reflects different emotional and spatial dimensions within Ataay’s contemporary visual language.

WITHIN A DREAM (EXISTENCE)
Oil and Mixed Media on Canvas
100 × 120 cm | 2025

Within a Dream (Existence) reflects on the fluid boundaries between memory, perception, and
inner transformation. Through layered textures and atmospheric depth, the work creates a
suspended space where time, body, and emotion appear to dissolve into one another.
Balancing abstraction with subtle figurative presence, the composition evokes a dreamlike state shaped by movement, silence, and emotional resonance.
The shifting relationship between light and shadow transforms the visual atmosphere, allowing
the work to reveal different emotional dimensions depending on perception and spatial presence.
Exhibited in Dreams in Pera Palace, Istanbul, 2025. Private Collection.

THRESHOLD
Oil and Mixed Media on Canvas
100 × 100 cm | 2025

Threshold explores the emotional and perceptual space between transition and transformation.
Through layered textures, shifting atmospheres, and subtle contrasts between light and shadow, the work creates the sensation of entering an undefined inner landscape.
The composition changes according to spatial presence and surrounding light, revealing different
emotional dimensions through perception rather than narrative. Moving between clarity and
obscurity, openness and depth, the work reflects on thresholds not as fixed boundaries, but as states of passage and becoming.
Exhibited in Dreams in Kalamış, Istanbul, 2025. Private Collection.

FLOW
Oil and Mixed Media on Canvas
90 cm Diameter | 2025

Flow reflects on movement as a state of transformation rather than direction. Through fluid textures, layered
surfaces, and shifting transitions between depth and light, the work evokes the sensation of surrendering to an unseen rhythm.
Rather than resisting change, the composition embraces impermanence, continuity, and the quiet intelligence found within natural movement.
The circular form reinforces the idea of cyclical existence — where endings dissolve into beginnings, and transformation unfolds through uninterrupted flow.
Exhibited at Ankara Art Days, 2025. Private Collection.

breath
Oil and Mixed Media on Canvas
90 × 110 cm | 2022

Breath explores the subtle relationship between body, atmosphere, and transformation.
Suspended within layered blue tonalities and fluid textures, the feminine form appears to
dissolve into its surrounding environment — existing between presence and disappearance.
Rather than depicting the body as a fixed structure, the work approaches it as an elemental field
shaped by movement, memory, and emotional resonance. Water-like transitions, softened
contours, and atmospheric depth create the sensation of breathing through space rather than occupying it.
Moving between abstraction and figuration, Breath reflects on the invisible connection between
inner experience and the natural world, suggesting that existence itself unfolds through rhythm, flow, and continuous transformation.
Sold from the artist’s studio.

surrender
Oil and Mixed Media on Canvas
50 × 70 cm | 2022

Surrender explores the psychological and emotional space between release and transformation. Suspended within fluid, water-like textures, the feminine figure appears to drift beyond resistance — entering a state shaped by trust, vulnerability, and inner stillness.
Rather than portraying surrender as defeat, the work approaches it as a conscious act of letting go. Dissolving contours, layered surfaces, and atmospheric movement create the sensation of the body merging with a larger elemental rhythm beyond control or certainty.
Moving between fragility and calmness, Surrender reflects on the quiet power that emerges when resistance softens into acceptance and transformation begins through release.

BETWEEN TWO WORLDS
Oil and Mixed Media on Canvas
100 × 120 cm | 2025

Between Two Worlds explores the fragile space suspended between freedom and containment, presence and distance, inner reality and external perception. Emerging through layered textures and atmospheric movement, the figure appears caught within a shifting threshold where emotional and spatial boundaries continuously dissolve.
Rather than portraying separation as confinement, the work reflects on the invisible tension between longing and transformation. Light, movement, and dissolving surfaces create a dreamlike atmosphere in which the figure seems both grounded and weightless — existing between two emotional states, two dimensions, or two forms of being.
Moving between abstraction and figuration, the work invites the viewer into a contemplative space shaped by memory, silence, and emotional resonance. “No cage can hold the wind.”
Exhibited at Ankara Art Days, 2025.
Private Collection.
