MULTIDISCIPLINARY CREATIVE PROFESSIONAL
Istanbul, Turkey
Ceren Ataay was born in Ankara in 1980. She completed her Bachelor’s degree at Istanbul Gedik University, Faculty of Fine Arts and Architecture, Department of Visual Communication Design, and holds a Master’s degree in Public Relations and Advertising from Marmara University.
Ataay is a contemporary visual artist and multidisciplinary creative professional based in Istanbul. Her artistic practice brings together painting, visual storytelling, spatial atmosphere, and layered material exploration through an interdisciplinary approach rooted in transformation, coexistence, and the invisible connections between nature, humanity, and the cosmos.
Working primarily with oil painting and mixed media, Ataay develops textured surfaces and atmospheric compositions shaped by light, shadow, movement, and elemental symbolism. Water, fire, earth, and air frequently emerge within her works as metaphors for cyclical transformation, memory, balance, and the interconnected nature of existence.

- ABOUT THE ARTIST
Her visual language moves between contemporary abstraction and figurative abstraction, creating emotionally charged spaces that invite contemplation and inner reflection.
In 2021, she founded CosmicArt Studio in Kadıköy, Istanbul, as an independent creative space dedicated to contemporary artistic production and social impact–oriented art workshops. Through voluntary projects for children and women, she continues to explore art as both a transformative language and a collective experience.
Today, Ataay continues her artistic practice in Istanbul, participating in national and international exhibitions while developing interdisciplinary projects that merge contemporary art, materiality, and poetic visual narratives.
Alongside her visual arts practice, Ataay has also worked within theatre productions as both performer and costume designer, focusing on character aesthetics, stage atmosphere and visual integrity. This multidisciplinary background informs her approach to composition, narrative structure, and spatial perception
